Morris School
The Francis C. Smith School occupies 55,000 S.F. in space formerly occupied by Rickels. The school was designed for 300 three to five year-old students plus teachers and administration staff. The program includes 20 classrooms, a multi-purpose room accommodating 450 persons, administrative suite, nurses' station, food preparation area, group teaching areas, and supportive staff offices. The program includes a complete roofing replacement of the building with a built-up roofing system with a 20- year NDL warranty, site improvements, facade improvements, and a complete demolition and build-out of interior spaces. The state-of-the art school was designed in a very tight timeframe. Design was completed in 5 months and construction was divided into two phases (Demolition and General Construction) to accelerate the completion of the facility. |
